Company Overview
A Passion for Tradition
In February 1995, a fire razed the factory at East Street corner Laurel in Mandaluyong and nearly spelled the end for Majestic Ham. A tremendous effort was required to rise from the ashes but the company has now bounced back with greater enthusiasm and stronger resolve to keep its product on the market. Majestic Ham is an institution and a time-honored Christmas tradition that must not disappear.

Maintaining originality in taste stems from a commitment to remain unyielding to the pressures of modernizing the process unless these improve the product and do not alter its unique characteristics....keeping true to tradition.
The Tradition That Is Majestic Ham
Only limited quantities of ham are available by the holidays as it takes at least six months to make Majestic Ham and even as stocks are increased each year, a scramble for every ham in inventory still occurs. A cause of disappointment for many customers who have said that Christmas is just not the same without the star of their "Noche Buena" - Majestic Ham. One of the goals of the company is to increase the production capacity without compromising the quality of the product.
But not just a Christmas treat, Majestic Ham is also a favorite snack brought to school or work, and picnics.A thin, freshly cut slice of Majestic Ham in a hot pandesal is a simple pleasure many families enjoy for breakfast.
Available all year round, whole ham for parties, sliced ham for sandwiches, ham scraps as a special, secret ingredient for soups, spaghetti, as well as other dishes, and the hambone, a simple flavor enhancer for beans, soups, nilaga and pochero. The possibilties are endless.
The Company
History
In 1908, a Spanish couple engaged the services of a German technician and his Filipino apprentice to introduce the traditional techniques of processing meat, and the primary product was ham. The ham prepared in this unique process was sold under various names such as Rainbow Meat, Manila Ham, Farmers Produce, Elite Ham, and Oriental Food, making this succulent delicacy widely available to the Filipino consumer.
After the war, this culinary tradition had survived with the Filipino apprentice, Domingo Salvador. He pursued the ham making business and made it a family venture. Later on, Mr. Salvador’s son, Victoriano and his wife Donnie, established Majestic Ham Inc. in 1956. Carrying-on the tradition passed on by their father, they continued to produce this uniquely flavored ham, a taste that hinted the refreshing flavor of wine.
Through the years, Majestic Ham had become an institution and a time-honored tradition. Maintaining originality in taste, Majestic Ham had committed itself to be unyielding to the pressures of modern process unless these improve the product and do not alter its unique characteristics . . . keeping true to tradition. With this, Majestic Ham had became a favorite Christmas present to favor clients, beloved relatives, and a well appreciated center-piece of the Filipinos’ Noche Buena feast, on Christmas Eve. The sparkling caramel glazing and distinctive taste had become part of the Filipino Christmas tradition.
In 1985, Fernando Pedrosa and his partners bought the Salvador’s share holdings in the company. However, this did not compromised the quality of Majestic Ham’s products, as the new owners remained committed to the very traditions and techniques that uniquely is Majestic’s very own, set almost 90 years ago.
To date, the Company operates 15 stores strategically located in the metro, primarily in supermarkets and commercial areas. Added to this, the Company participates in food bazaars and expositions to introduce and make available their much loved products. To better cater to the Filipino palette, Majestic Hams and Food Products Inc. expanded their manufacture to local delicacies. The Company is now also producing beef tapa and ham pandesal.
